Chuck is the fourth-generation owner of homes by RYAN, a local homebuilding and real estate company, celebrating 100 years in 2021. He believes the RDGA is one of the best golf associations in the country, as evidenced by the adjustments that led to an extraordinarily successful 2020 season despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
He came up through the RDGA junior golf program and played for McQuaid Jesuit and Duke University. He has served on the RDGA Foundation Board since its inception and is also responsible for securing the location of the current RDGA offices, formerly those of the Rochester Homebuilders Association. Chuck is a past Board member of the CC of Rochester and Oak Hill CC.
Chuck’s family has a long history with the RDGA. The District Championship was renamed in 1983 in memory of his brother, John Ryan, Jr. His son, Joe, was the 1998 RDGA Junior Runner-up and member of the Williamson Cup team. John Ryan II is the 2002 RDGA Sub-Junior Champion.
Chuck is married to his wife of 41 years, Jennie, also an avid golfer. Besides Joe and John, they have a daughter, Julie Ryan Magee, and four grandchildren who they hope will continue the tradition of enjoying RDGA Junior Golf.
